Fifty Two Daring Dates

Do you ever find yourself stagnating with ideas for date nights? I'm starting a new segment called Fifty Two Daring Dates. Every Monday, I'm going to bring you one new idea for a date, test-driven by yours truly and my significant other, Zac. In this segment, I'll explain the kinds of things we did, how much we paid, and how fun it was. I hope that somehow this may give couples out there in the world new ideas for dates!

Date Night #1: Archery

Zac and I headed to the local archery club for some good old target practice. I've never gone before today and wowee, what an experience! The sport itself, because of its lack of intensity, allows me to compete with Zac on a more level playing field. We can be competitive against one another without significantly overshadowing the other. Archery may look easy but takes a lot of skill; aim is not simply how to hold the bow and arrow but perspective, strength, and judgement.

For a little more than a movie ticket at the theatre, we received one bow of our choice (a lefty for me!), three arrows, and a wrist guard. After that, we had unlimited time at the range to shoot as much as we wanted. We were there for almost an hour and a half, plugging arrows into the burlap surrounding the targets!

Two out of three of my arrows. I don't think I could do that again though!
Archery was definitely way too much fun. My fingers are a little sensitive from holding the string, but I would love to do it again. I even tried it with my right hand and a larger bow!

Cost: around $15 CAN
Fun: 5/5, would do again
